Director Identity Verification in Glasgow
New legal requirement from November 2025. As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), we can verify your identity for Companies House quickly and professionally.
The New Legal Requirement
From 18 November 2025, identity verification became a legal requirement for anyone who files information with Companies House. This is part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, designed to increase transparency and prevent fraud.
There is a 12-month transition period for existing directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSCs) to comply. All new directors must verify their identity before being appointed.
Who Needs to Verify Their Identity?
- Company directors – All directors of UK limited companies
- Persons with Significant Control (PSCs) – Those with over 25% shares or voting rights
- LLP members – Members of Limited Liability Partnerships

Two Ways to Verify Your Identity
There are two official methods to verify your identity for Companies House:

- UK biometric passport (with a chip)
